What These Words Mean
Freedom
After years of intense academic pressure, freedom means having more time to make his own choices and more room for life beyond studying.
Happiness
For Nie, happiness lives in ordinary moments: a Coca-Cola, an arcade game, or simply having a little time when worries fade into the background.
Connection
Naturally reserved, Nie sometimes feels nervous talking with people he does not know. He hopes his future self can feel more comfortable and natural connecting with others.
Beyond Labels
During the conversation, Nie reflected on how easily people can be defined by a single characteristic, whether it is their name, height, appearance, or something others happen to notice.
Even when attention comes from a place of kindness, being singled out can sometimes make him feel different.
What matters more to him is being seen simply as a person: someone living, learning, changing, and growing like everyone else.
