Hi, I’m Kevin, a high school student at The Frederick Gunn School. I’m interested in psychology, technology, and healthcare, but what I’m most curious about is how people experience the world around them.

 

Outside of school and research, I love skiing. What I enjoy most is not really the speed. It is the feeling of being completely present, noticing the snow beneath my skis, the movement of my body, and everything happening in that moment.

I think I pay attention to people in a similar way. I often notice small changes in someone’s expression, a pause before they answer, or moments when what they are feeling is hard to put into words. Those moments make me want to understand people beyond the labels we use to describe them.

A lot of the questions I care about do not have clear answers. What shapes the way we feel? How do our surroundings affect us? How do we understand another person without simplifying who they are? And how do the futures we imagine shape the people we are becoming?

​

Many of my projects have grown from these questions. I have explored ways to turn anxiety into physiological data, future hopes into collages, medical images into physical models, and virtual scenes into experiences that people can step into.

​

I’m still figuring out where these questions will take me. That’s probably part of why I keep coming back to them.
