Collaboration · Health · Resilience
Three qualities she hopes to carry into her future.
What These Words Mean
Collaboration
When Zhao imagines herself ten years from now, she sees work as an important part of her life. Whether she eventually starts something of her own or works within a team, she hopes to become someone who can cooperate well with others.
She also recognizes that this is still an area in which she wants to grow. For Zhao, collaboration represents not only a future professional skill, but also a way of becoming more open and effective in working with the people around her.
Health
Health is the most direct hope Zhao expressed for her future. When asked what kind of life she wanted ten years from now, she described something simple and grounded: work going smoothly, a healthy body, and life unfolding well.
Her collage also includes the phrase “相信自己是最幸运的人,” meaning “believe that you are the luckiest person.” Zhao said she does feel fortunate, giving the work a quiet sense of gratitude alongside her hope for continued health.
Resilience
Zhao chose resilience because she expects adulthood and work to involve challenges, no matter which path she takes. She hopes to become someone who can continue moving forward when things are difficult and adapt to whatever her future demands.
The interview gives less detail about a specific moment in which she already demonstrated resilience, so this quality is best understood as something she intentionally hopes to strengthen over time.
Looking Toward an Unrestricted Future
When asked what she hoped would not be limited by her physical condition, Zhao mentioned being able to go out and enjoy life freely.
She also expressed a preference for not having her physical condition repeatedly singled out by others. What she seems to value is being able to move through life naturally, without unnecessary attention being placed on her body.
Her Future Self
For Zhao, the future is not defined by one extraordinary achievement. It is a life in which she can stay healthy, work well with others, face difficulties with resilience, and have the freedom to enjoy the world around her.
